Coach Selection Process

Steel Lake LL believes that the Head Coach (Manager) selection process should be transparent, consistent, fair and, above all, prioritize the positive experience and safety for our children. Listed below is a summary of this selection process. For a more detailed explanation, please see our revised Local Rules.

  • Applicants must first complete the online registration process by going here.
  • Applicants must complete a Little League approved criminal/safety background check that will be emailed to them by the League.
  • The League President will nominate potential Managers from the list of Applicants for each division.
  • Each nominee will be interviewed by the League’s Board of Directors (not to exceed 15 minutes).
  • The Board will vote on each Nominee. Each Nominee will need a majority vote to be offered the position as Manager. If there are more Manager Nominees than teams in a given division, the Nominees with the most votes will be offered the position as Manager.
